An urn holding the cremated remains of Terry Herrle — stolen in a Jan. 9 burglary, thought found but then stolen again — has been returned to the dead woman’s husband.
The urn was found in a box left outside Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Colorado Springs early Friday. The urn was returned to Bob Herrle by El Paso County deputies about 8:30 a.m.
The urn was stolen during a Jan. 9 burglary of Herrle’s Black Forest home. Six days later, Colorado Springs police received a call about a bag left outside the same church. When they arrived, they found the bag, which contained a note of apology, but the wooden box containing Terry Herrle’s ashes was not there.
Three people have been arrested related to the burglary: Damon Brimer, 34, Scott Farr, 29, and Farr’s brother Jeremy Farr, 23. Nicole Y. Mobley, 24, was arrested, and a warrant was issued for Sergio Rivera, 31, related to the theft of the urn after it was left at the church the first time.
