A man was taken to Boulder Community Hospital this afternoon after briefly being pinned by an SUV that crashed into the north side of Great Harvest Bread Co. at 2525 Arapahoe Ave., according to Boulder police.

The accident happened at 12:15 p.m. and involved a BMW SUV with California license plates. The male driver, who was accompanied by a female passenger, was pulling into a parking spot and stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, according to Boulder police Deputy Chief Greg Testa.

The car lunged forward and hit a pedestrian who was walking by at the time, pinning him between the SUV and the bakery’s brick wall, Testa said. It’s not clear yet how seriously he is injured.
