GREELEY — Two local business owners decided Monday night that they wanted to help some University of Northern Colorado students make a memory.

Theresa and Rusty Boyd, owners of Whiskey River, led a caravan of seven cars and their rented 15-passenger van, totaling about 40 people, out of a UNC parking lot early this morning and headed to Tucson to see the men’s baskeball team take on San Diego State in its first NCAA Tournament game.

“We think it’s the thing to do,” Rusty said. “We love school spirit. It’s awesome … You never know when you are going to get to go to the dance. We love helping them create memories.”

The Boyds are paying for the students’ gas and hotel rooms. This 15-hour road trip was definitely the way these students wanted to spend their spring break.
