The Aspen Skiing Co. has picked St. Patrick’s Day to launch a new “sunset skiing” program to keep one chairlift open at a ski area for extended hours on one day each week through the remainder of ski season.
The Summit Express chair at Buttermilk will remain open until 6 p.m. today. That allows the terrain park to remain open that late as well, the Skico said on its website. The Cliffhouse restaurant will host a St. Patty’s party until 6 p.m., then the action moves down to Bumps restaurant at the base.
Season passes as well as full-day and half-day lift tickets are valid for the sunset skiing. “Late arrival” lift tickets will be sold for $44 starting at 2:30 p.m. on sunset skiing days.
