The research support facility at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden has been named one of the most outstanding construction projects of 2010, the Associated General Contractors of America announced today.

The project’s contractor, Haselden Construction LLC, is one of eight firms to receive the association’s Build America merit award.

The 222,000-square-foot NREL facility was built with regional and local sustainable materials, including more than 300 mountain pine beetle-killed trees. It also includes a number of energy-efficient features.
