DENVER—A second Denver mayoral candidate has received the endorsement from someone who used to have the job.
Candidate Michael Hancock has the support of former Mayor Wellington Webb and his wife, Wilma, a former Colorado legislator. Webb announced his support for the city councilman Thursday.
Webb served three terms as Denver mayor, from 1991 to 2003.
Former Denver Mayor Federico Pena is backing James Mejia (meh-HEE’-uh) in the race.
Ten people are running for mayor. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote in May, a run-off between the top two vote-getters will be June 7.
