Qwest Communications International will receive more than $100 million over the next six years as the sole Internet Protocol Services provider for the U.S. Department of Defense.
It is the largest government communication contract ever developed by the U.S. General Services Administration. The contract expires in 2017.
Denver-based Qwest is about to be sold to CenturyLink Inc. for $12.2 billion. The deal is scheduled to close Friday.
