Dish Network partners with EPIX to provide online access to thousands of movies

Douglas County-based Dish Network Corp. announced today that it is partnering with EPIX – the premium entertainment service from Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM – to provide DISH Network satellite TV customers who subscribe to EPIX programming with free, unlimited on-demand, online access to content.

The programming will be available via DISHOnline. com ().

Dish said that Dish Network customers who subscribe to DISH Platinum will now have access to more than 3,000 films and additional EPIX programming via DISHOnline.cpm anytime and anywhere in high and standard definition.

The company said new releases such as “Star Trek,” “The Last Airbender,” “Iron Man,” and “Shutter Island” would be available.

Dave Shull, senior vice president of programming for Dish Network, said the company is committed to offering the best video content available, which can be watched anywhere.

This “is why our partnership with EPIX is an important step in the expansion of the already robust lineup of popular movies available online and on on-demand at DishOnline,com,” said Shull.

“Dish Network customers who subscribe to EPIX programming can now access high-quality movies by simply logging on to DISHOnline,” he added.

EPIX is a joint venture between Viacom, its Paramount Pictures unit, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Lionsgate.

The EPIX joint venture provides access to more than 15,000 motion pictures which includes the libraries of its partners and other studios.

Dish Network Corp. provides more than 14.1 million satellite TV customers with programming.
