Two people are in custody this morning after an argument allegedly led to gunfire in Colorado Springs.

At 1:36 this morning police responded to a call about shots fired at a home in the 200 block of South 15th Street, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department’s crime blotter.

After arriving, officers said they learned that as many as four people, three men and one 16-year-old girl, were involved in a confrontation inside the home.

During the argument police say the girl pulled a .45 caliber handgun from her bag and gave it to her boyfriend who allegedly fired at another man in the home.

The bullet narrowly missed the man’s face before the shooter ran away.

Police said the suspects were not well known by the victim.

Officers were able to speak with both suspects using an out of state cell phone number. After about 10 conversations, police convinced the girl and her boyfriend to come in for an interview, police said.

Both suspects confessed and were taken into custody.

The girl was charged with possession of a handgun by a juvenile and attempted first-degree assault. She was booked into Spring Creek Juvenile Detention Facility.

The male suspect was identified as 20-year-old Andrew Hart. Hart was charged with attempted first-degree assault and possession of weapons by a previous offender.

The victim suffered minor powder burns to his face.
