The Crystal fire, which burned about 3,000 acres west of Fort Collins after starting April 1, is fully extinguished, officials said Monday.

The blaze destroyed 13 homes and, at its peak, was fought by about 376 personnel from 30 agencies, according to the management team.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. The cost has been estimated at more than $2.4 million.

The fire in thick pine stands and dry grass on private property and public lands in the Roosevelt National Forest was fed by high winds. Fire restrictions enacted in the Arapaho and Roosevelt national forests remain in effect. Joey Bunch, The Denver Post
