After two and a half days of deliberating, an 8th Judicial District Court jury on Wednesday convicted a Fort Collins man of stabbing his girlfriend’s sister to death in 2009.
District Court Judge David Williams took little time after the verdict was rendered in sentencing Horacio Pasillas-Rodriguez, 22, to a mandatory life sentence for the murder of Elizabeth Olivas, who was 21 at the time of the December 2009 murder.
Pasillas-Rodriguez lived with his girlfriend, the victim and the sisters’ parents in a northeast Fort Collins apartment where the killing took place.
Evidence presented at the 11-day trial showed Pasillas-Rodriguez stabbed Olivas more than 120 times in the head, neck and shoulders.
