COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The preliminary hearing for a Colorado Springs woman accused in the dragging death of a tow truck driver has been delayed to give her attorney more time to prepare.
The Gazette reports the hearing Friday for 33-year-old Detra Farries was rescheduled for May 13. A hearing is planned April 29 on her attorney’s request to reduce Farries’ $50,000 bail.
Farries faces 11 charges, including manslaughter and vehicular homicide, in the Feb. 23 death of 35-year-old Allen Rose.
Rose was preparing to tow an illegally parked SUV when the vehicle’s owner allegedly drove away. Investigators say Rose tried to chase the SUV but got tangled in a dangling tow cable and was dragged for more than a mile.
Farries is being held in the El Paso County jail.
