LAKEWOOD — A 34-year-old man is dead after he lost control of his car and it jumped a median and plowed head-on into a Ford F-150 pickup, police said.
Esequiel Arriaga-Ruiz was driving a Dodge Charger that collided with the truck on South Sheridan Boulevard south of West Mississippi Avenue about 2:45 Sunday morning, according to Lakewood police spokesman Ty Countryman.
Arriaga-Ruiz had been speeding as he changed lanes and lost control of the vehicle, Countryman said. The Charger crossed over the painted median and into the southbound traffic lanes where it hit the pickup.
Arriaga-Ruiz was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.
