Folks interested in learning the basics of hunting and fishing are invited to take their “First Shot” in Denver on Saturday at the Colorado Division of Wildlife Headquarters (6060 Broadway). Budding outdoor recreationists ages 8 and older will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of firearm safety, archery and fishing by participating in guided, safe activities with certified instructors and wildlife officers. The free event runs from 8 a.m. to noon, and preregistration is required. Space is limited to the first 100 to register.
