Volunteers and staff at Barr Lake are celebrating the birth of at least one hatchling to a pair of bald eagles that have tended a nest in the wildlife refuge since 1986, Colorado State Parks announced Wednesday.
The Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory’s Bald Eagle Watch volunteers spotted the parents “exhibiting typical hatching behavior” on April 2, and volunteers spotted an eaglet in the nest Saturday. Barr Lake is in Brighton, near Interstate 76.
