National stage.
A team of Colorado underclassman wrestlers finished third at the National Wrestling Coaches Association scholastic duals last weekend in Crawfordsville, Ind.
The Coloradans were 4-2 in duals and beat national power Pennsylvania to secure their highest finish in 13 years. Discovery Canyon’s A.J. Rees (112 pounds), Broomfield’s Nick Babcock (140), Fountain-Fort Carson’s Josh Schoenberger (171) and Arvada’s Dwight Howes (189) each finished 5-1. Howes put on a pin display, producing four in a combined 7 minutes, 30 seconds. That was the best such time in the field.
