The Collegiate Peaks Chapter of Trout Unlimited is hosting its 26th annual Caddis Festival Banquet and Auction to be held May 7 at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds in Poncha Springs.
The chapter’s primary fundraiser of the year is timed to correspond with the caddis hatch’s arrival in the Salida area of the Arkansas River, enabling anglers to take part in the festival after a day on the water. Doors and cash bar open at 5 p.m., offering ample time to examine auction items before the 7 p.m. dinner. Adult tickets are $20 in advance ($25 at the door) and $15 for ages 15 and younger.
Proceeds are dedicated to the funding of a variety of activities including habitat improvement projects, stream restoration, youth and adult education, college scholarships, trail maintenance and construction and kids’ fishing derbies.
