Troy Tulowitzki was in no hurry to criticize Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro after his three-error performance Monday night. Tulowitzki has his own issues at Wrigley Field. “I have a hard time getting comfortable here,” Tulo said before the game. He ended up with his second error of the season, misplaying a Geovany Soto line drive in the bottom of the first inning, allowing the Cubs to score.
No change at top.
Manager Jim Tracy said there are no plans to use Jonathan Herrera in the leadoff slot. Dexter Fowler has been functional, despite his high number of strikeouts, and Tracy likes Herrera’s ability to bunt, take pitches and hit behind runners in the No. 2 slot.
Right choice?
After his five-hit game Monday, the Cubs’ Kosuke Fukudome sat against lefty Jorge De La Rosa. Fukudome is 2-for-5 against left-handers this season.
