Tracy Morgan will bring his off-kilter stand-up act to Comedy Works Landmark this weekend for four shows over two days. Morgan, known best for his reportedly true-to-life character Tracy Jordan on NBC’s “30 Rock,” has carved a niche similar to that of Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle in his ability to make racial stereotypes both funny and accessible to mixed-race audiences. His live act is notoriously lewd, crude and hyper-sexual, but it’s also laugh- out-loud funny. Here’s hoping we get a taste of “Brian Fellow’s Safari Planet” from Morgan’s days as a “Saturday Night Live” cast member. No, Morgan is not an accredited zoologist, and we’re perfectly fine with that. Tickets for tonight’s shows, 7:15 and 9:45 p.m., are $45 and available through . Both Saturday shows are sold out.

In an era when pop music seems packed to the brim with repetitive takes on alt-country, Americana and folk rock, Ezra Furman and the Harpoons offer a breath of fresh air. Sure, the band’s lead singer and namesake may take more than a few hints from famous speak-singers like Lou Reed or Bob Dylan, but when backed up with the band’s rough, catchy twang, it works. The group’s “Take Off Your Sunglasses” is as hook-laden as anything you’ll hear on the radio, though the lyrics are smarter and more poetic than most. The guys split their time between Chicago and New York City, and they’ll land at the Hi-Dive on Saturday night before heading east to Lawrence, Kan., on Sunday. Tickets for Saturday’s show, presented by Reverb, are $10-$12 and available through .
