Xcel Energy plans to conduct natural gas pipeline work near the Hills Subdivision in Arapahoe County tomorrow at 9 a.m.

According to a news release the work will clear the line of any natural gas to ensure the safety of crew members who will be inspecting the line and making repairs.

Drivers should expect delays in the area of South Peoria Street between Cherry Creek Drive and Arapahoe Road.

The public utility company warns that residents in the vicinity may smell natural gas and could also see a flame of about 10 to 15 feet high as the gas is flared and burned off.

Xcel customers shouldn’t lose gas service, however, if appliances need to be re-lit, they can call 1-800-895-2999.
