Former presidential candidate Howard Dean will deliver the commencement speech to Naropa University graduates this week.

The commencement address — titled “Creating the future we imagine” — will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Macky Auditorium on the University of Colorado campus.

Stuart Lord, president of Naropa, said the school is honored to have Dean speak at the graduation.

School officials said 194 graduate students and 119 undergraduates are receiving degrees.

Dean, now a CNBC contributor, was chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2005 to 2009, sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004 and was governor of Vermont from 1991 to 2003.

CU will have its graduation ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Folsom Field, and Steve Ells, chairman and co-CEO of Chipotle Mexican Grill, will deliver the commencement address.
