A charity event Saturday in Superior will feature Japanese food, entertainment and camaraderie to raise money for those affected by Japan’s March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
“Hope to Japan,” a group of Japanese women in Colorado, is putting on the fund-raiser from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 2200 South Tyler Drive in The Horizons at Rock Creek Community Center, located west of West Flatiron Crossing Drive.
The group hopes to raise $10,000 by selling Japanese food, most of it donated by area restaurants, for a suggested donation of $10 a plate, or $15 for a “Godzilla plate.”
Besides chair massages, nail art, karate performances, music and Japanese movies for children, merchandise, including T-shirts, will feature art by Japanese artists living in Colorado.
