COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A military transport plane on a training mission has landed safely at the Colorado Springs Airport after the people on board alerted authorities that one of the engines was having problems.

Airport assistant director for operations John McGinley says a C-130 plane reported that one of its four engines wasn’t generating enough power Wednesday evening and the crew turned it off to prevent damaging it. He says authorities got the call at about 7:40 p.m.

Emergency crews responded to the airport, but the plane landed at 7:51 p.m. without any problems. McGinley says the plane was from Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs and had five people on board.
