ISTANBUL — Unidentified attackers opened fire Wednesday on a campaign convoy belonging to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s party, killing one police officer and wounding another.
The attack came after Erdogan had left the convoy. It was unclear whether he had been the intended target.
Less than an hour earlier, he addressed a rally in Kastamonu, about 150 miles north of Ankara.
