A worker killed in an apparent industrial accident in northeast Denver Wednesday has been identified as 56-year-old James Kemmerley.

The incident happened at about 11:10 a.m. at a distribution center 510 E. 51st Ave., said Lt. Phil Champagne, a Denver Fire Department spokesman.

When firefighters and emergency personnel arrived, a co-worker was performing CPR on the male victim, Champagne said.

It appeared that the victim’s upper body was crushed.

Kemmerley was a contract truck driver, working with Macy’s.

The cause of the fatal incident is under investigation.
