BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder authorities are forming a team that will review the deaths of elderly residents to determine whether they could have been prevented or if they merit criminal charges.

Boulder County District Attorney Stan Garnett says the review team will review some deaths but won’t meet every time an elderly person dies because in some cases it’s clear the death was of natural causes.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports that the team will include law enforcement officers, medical professionals and representatives from social services agencies. The review team will be similar to a child fatality advisory team that has been meeting for years to investigate child deaths.
