FOUNTAIN — A 22 year-old man was killed when he fell out of a moving vehicle at Mesa Ridge Parkway and U.S. 85 early Sunday.
Andrew J. Dalenko of North Carolina died at the scene.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reported that Dalenko is a soldier. Information on where he was stationed was unavailable.
The Fountain Police Department received a 911 call reporting the accident about 1:15 a.m.
“Upon arrival, officers learned that a passenger in a westbound pickup truck exited the vehicle through an open door and fell onto the roadway,” according to a release.
Alcohol is thought to be a factor in the accident, police said.
