GOLDEN, Colo.—People watching a skateboarding race on Lookout Mountain got a scare after a helicopter made a crash landing near the race route.
The helicopter came down on a steep slope on Sunday afternoon during the Buffalo Bill Downhill. Jefferson County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jacki Kelley said none of the four people on board were hurt.
Denver’s KMGH-TV reported that the helicopter crew was shooting the skateboard race. Witnesses say the chopper appeared to lose control in strong winds before dropping to the ground.
The final heat of the race was canceled because of the crash landing.
