Loveland firefighters found no trace of the reported carbon monoxide that sickened students and staff at Winona Elementary School on Tuesday.
Fire and Xcel gas crews spent hours inside the Loveland school with special equipment looking for carbon monoxide or gas and the source. They found nothing, said Wes Fothergill, school district spokesman.
Students began complaining of dizziness and nausea Tuesday morning, causing officials to evacuate the school and all available emergency medics to converge on scene. Medics treated some children with oxygen outside the school, and tranported 41 students and three teachers to area hospitals.
