The Colorado Division of Fire Safety has stopped all firefighter certification tests and launched an investigation after they discovered a testing proctor may have provided advance copies of the tests to candidates.
The proctor supposedly made copies of the tests and gave them out before the exam, according to the DFS.
The proctor, Greeley firefighter Roger Moore, has been suspended with pay during the investigation.
The DFS tests and certifies the training of about half the firefighters in Colorado. Denver, West Metro and Aurora do not use the program.
Officials believe that the cheating may have begun within the past three years, although they do not know the specific date. They believe tests were given to no more than 100 candidates from multiple jurisdictions.
DFS director Kevin Klein said the Colorado attorney general’s office is investigating the case.
