GILPIN COUNTY — A Boulder Valley School District counselor was arrested today by the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Department.
David Stansbury, a Monarch High School counselor, is accused of sexual exploitation of a child through the Internet.
Investigators say, over a six-week period, Stansbury sent numerous text messages and requests for nude pictures to an investigator posing as a 14-year-old girl. They say he also sent pictures of his genitals.
Deputies arrested Stansbury after he made arrangements to meet the undercover investigator at a Lakewood coffee shop.
