TEHRAN, Iran — Judicial authorities postponed Saturday the blinding of a man convicted of throwing a bucket of sulfuric acid in the face of a young woman after she had refused to marry him.

Fars news agency reported that the sentence, controversial in Iran, was postponed for unknown reasons. The victim, Ameneh Bahrami, 34, was disfigured and blinded.
