The gas-fired boiler at a Westminster apartment complex exploded Monday evening, causing damage and a brief evacuation, but no one was hurt, according to the Fire Department.
The explosion blew out some nearby windows and caused other damage to the Lakeview Apartments at West 68th Avenue and Lowell Boulevard, but no flames resulted from the blast, said Westminster Fire Department spokeswoman Diana Allen.
Residents were allowed to return shortly after the explosion, which happened just before 7 p.m., she said.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
