Presidential treatment.

Ben Stewart, a 2008 graduate of Class 3A Kent Denver, met with President Barack Obama this week as a member of the Connecticut men’s basketball team.

The 6-foot-5 junior forward walked on with the Huskies after playing for the Sun Devils. He played in UConn’s first-round victory over Bucknell in the NCAA Tournament and earned an academic excellence award.

At the White House, where national champions traditionally meet with the president, Stewart and the Huskies conducted a youth basketball clinic.
