At 51, Warren Haynes has already cemented his place in music history, even if he got there by becoming a second-generation member of the Allman Brothers Band and the Dead. Still, there’s no denying his licks — part blues, part Southern rock, part contemporary jam — Haynes is one of the most consistent shredders on the circuit today. He’s helped make the picturesque city of Asheville, N.C., a bona fide music town, and his “Mountain Jam” festival in upstate New York regularly attracts some of the biggest names in jam-roots-rock. While most have seen Haynes with his band Gov’t Mule, he will set up shop for two nights at the Ogden Theatre next week, billed simply as “Warren Haynes Band.” Tickets for Tuesday and Wednesday, $35 each, are available through Ticketmaster.

Man Man makes freak-folk even freakier than it sounds. The Philadelphia quartet uses a barrage of instruments, makeup, costumes and nightmarish antics to create more of a circus than a concert, and it’s a rare treat to see them in a non-underground venue. Tickets to Saturday’s show at the Bluebird, $15-$18, are available through Ticketmaster.
