Town Board members voted 4-2 on Tuesday night to fire Frederick town administrator Derek Todd.
The Board of Trustees’ action to terminate Todd’s contract, which took effect immediately, followed nearly a three-hour-long special public meeting attended by more than 40 Frederick residents.
Trustee Jim Wollack, one of those voting to fire Todd, said “a series of events … over the past four months” had given him “a lot of concerns” about whether Todd “is the right person to lead this town forward.”
Wollack said that among town employees, “I believe that morale right now is probably as low as it has been since I’ve been on the board.”
