Police have cleared a teenager initially accused of spraying graffiti on a condominium in Boulder.
On May 8, police were called to the complex in the 1300 block of Rosewood Avenue after a witness reported a boy on the roof, according to a news release from the Boulder Police Department.
When police arrived they found fresh graffiti on the rooftop.
The resident took a photo of a 17-year-old boy and turned it into police who then distributed the photo to the media.
The boy later turned himself in and admitted to trespassing on the roof, but said he did so to take a photo of the sunset.
He provided police the sunset photos during an interview to help support his story. The boy had no prior history of graffiti.
Police said they will not pursue graffiti or vandalism charges, but they are still deciding whether he will face trespassing charges.
