CASTLE ROCK, Colo.—A Colorado mother suspected of killing her two children is expected to appear in court.

Authorities say 41-year-old Kelli Murphy will appear in court Tuesday. She was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder Monday after police found her two children dead in their Castle Rock home.

Police say they found a 6-year-old girl and 9-year-old boy dead after Murphy called 911 and said she was going to commit suicide. They say Murphy told the dispatcher her children were in heaven.

Murphy and her husband were in the process of getting divorced. KUSA-TV reported that Murphy tried to withdraw her request for a divorce on April 26, saying she had made the request “wrongly, out of anger.”

Authorities say officers answered five or six calls at the home in recent months.
