As most rivers are high and roily because of the recent rains, lakes and reservoirs are the best bet for anglers. With recent ice-off, Grand Lake, Granby, Twin, and Ruedi are seeing good lake trout action. Fish over 30 inches are being reported. With the Mackinaw shallow, fly-fishers’ chances for a trophy are good. Wiper and white bass waters such as Pueblo, Bonny, John Martin, Boyd, and Jackson are producing both good numbers and quality fish. Minnows or minnow imitations are a good bet at this time. Local ponds are seeing sunfish, including bass bedding. While this makes for good site fishing, consider releasing these breeding fish.
