The sale of the Banning Lewis Ranch will go forward next month, the Colorado Springs Gazette has reported.
A Delaware bankruptcy-court judge ordered Monday that the ranch’s owners be permitted to proceed with their proposed plan to sell the 21,500-acre parcel that extends along most of Colorado Springs’ east side. The plan calls for a series of sale dates in June, with the deal to be completed by June 30.
However, the judge didn’t rule on objections by the city of Colorado Springs, which had argued a sale could allow a buyer to abandon an annexation agreement and other agreements that govern the property’s development.
