The Rockies shipped struggling right-handed reliever Felipe Paulino to the Kansas City Royals in exchange for cash considerations Thursday night. The hard-throwing but wildly inconsistent Paulino went 0-4 with a 7.36 ERA over 18 games before being designated for assignment last Saturday.

Grand theft.

The Diamondbacks continued running free and easy against the Rockies. They entered Thursday’s game with seven stolen bases in the first three games of the series. They added two more Thursday, one by Justin Upton in the fifth and another by Chris Young in the sixth. Young advanced to third when catcher Chris Iannetta’s throw skipped into center field. Young subsequently scored on Melvin Mora’s single.

Tulo’s return.

Troy Tulowitzki, given Wednesday off to recharge and clear his head, showed off a nice piece of hitting in the fourth, driving in a run with an opposite- field single.
