The crew rolled into on a sunny Saturday afternoon in early April. They had just driven in straight north from Albuquerque and were a bit road-weary, and at first anxious to squeeze in this Mile Marker before their soundcheck at that night. They ended up staying for six songs. It’s hard to put your finger on this band or its varied blends of roots-rock. Part blues, part soul, part retro R&B. They call Austin home, and you can picture hearing these songs in a storied saloon just as easily as one of the newer rock clubs. The guitar line on “Virginia” is particularly addictive — give it a listen, then help yourself to all six free downloads.
