DENVER—State officials, including Gov. John Hickenlooper, will meet outside the Capitol in Denver to mark another statewide law enforcement torch run for the Special Olympics.

Colorado’s law enforcement torch run has been held for more than 25 years. Three flames from runs across the state will be joined into one flame Thursday to be carried down the 16th Street Mall on its final journey to Greeley. The Special Olympics’ Colorado State Summer Games are Saturday at the University of Northern Colorado.

Organizers hope to see more than 200 officers and Special Olympics participants at the ceremony. Planners say the law enforcement torch runs raise more than $250,000 a year for the games.
