Construction on I-25 will shut down lanes in both directions tonight and tomorrow night.
All lanes of northbound and southbound I-25 will be shutdown, and traffic detoured, near 84th Avenue as part of a bridge demolition project, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Lane closures will begin at 7 p.m. each night with the full closure of I-25 beginning at 10 p.m.
All lanes are scheduled to reopen at at 5:30 a.m. the following day.
In addition, the northbound I-25 HOV/tolled Express Lane will be closed approaching 84th Avenue starting at 9 p.m.
“The 84th Avenue bridge will be demolished and replaced in three phases to allow us to keep 84th Avenue open throughout the project,” said CDOT Project Engineer Bryan Kalliokoski. “For the first phase, we will be demolishing the northern portion of the bridge and then reconstructing it over the next several months.”
During the closures, motorists will be detoured using the entrance and exit ramps at 84th Avenue.
Major delays are possible on I-25 and 84th Avenue and alternate routes are strongly advised.
