A recovery from being gunned down outside her Fountain house took another big step forward Tuesday.
Shannon Paolini went home just more than two weeks after being shot five times as she fled her boyfriend, Gammall Perez, on May 16, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
After firing nearly a dozen rounds, Perez went back into Paolini’s house. Police found Perez and the couple’s 2-year-old son, Gavin Paolini, dead inside the house several hours later.
Shannon Paolini underwent surgeries and was initially admitted to the intensive care unit, though her condition quickly improved.
Donations can be made to the Shannon Paolini Victim Fund at any 5 Star bank in Colorado Springs, the sheriff’s office said.
