DENVER—Federal mining regulators are holding hearings this month on two proposed rules for the industry.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration says one proposal deals with examinations of work areas in underground coal mines. The other addresses companies found to have a pattern of violations.
The first scheduled public hearing is Thursday in Denver. Hearings in Charleston, W.Va.; Birmingham, Ala.; and Arlington, Va., are scheduled later this month.
