COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Officials say a Colorado Springs police officer accused of sexually assaulting at least six children has been charged with 78 criminal counts.
A spokeswoman for the El Paso County district attorney’s office said 30-year-old Joshua Carrier was charged Tuesday with sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, faking a medical exam and enticement, among other allegations. He is being held at the county jail on a $500,000 bond.
Carrier was suspended from the police department without pay last week after being charged with 10 felony counts of sexual exploitation. Authorities say Carrier was arrested last month on suspicion of buying child pornography.
Carrier was a school resource officer at a middle school and a coach in the Police Athletic League.
