A monthly survey of Colorado supply managers by Creighton University showed improving conditions in May being driven by higher energy commodity prices and durable-goods exports.

The Colorado Business Conditions Index jumped to 62.9 in May from 53.8 in April and 59.6 in March. A reading above 50 indicates expanding or improving conditions, while one below 50 indicates a contraction.

Index components were new orders at 81.9, production or sales at 79.5, delivery lead time at 49.6, inventories at 45.1 and employment at 58.4.
