On May 24, a woman walked into a Lakewood gun store and asked to see an AR-15 assault rifle and a Glock 9mm handgun. The suspect carried them to the far end of the shop the door before she turned and walked out the door.
“I think what’s unusual about this case is that it happened during business hours in broad daylight and it is a female that goes into the gun store and takes off with the AR-15 rifle and 9mm handgun right during business hours and gets away,” Steve Davis, spokesperson for the Lakewood Police Department, said.
After leaving the store, the suspect got into the passenger seat of a stolen red Chevy Suburban. She and the driver escaped. Police later found the Suburban, but the suspects and the guns were gone.
