If you are looking for a little gravity-defying sports this weekend, why not checkout some “nac-nac,” the “can-can” or a “fakie.” These are just a few of the tricks that will be on display today with demonstrations from athletes in BMX, skateboard and freestyle motocross at the Journeys Backyard Barbecue.
The event is at the 60,000-square foot “alternative sport theme park” outside FlatIron Crossing in Broomfield. It runs from noon to 7 p.m. in the south outer parking lot.
“These athletes are the best of the best,” Backyard tour director Brian Gass said Friday as he described the top international action sports and X Games stars. The event is free, and fans can meet the athletes and MTV star Rob Dyrdek as well as some national breakthrough musical bands.
